it's got to end sometime, maybe by november. meteorologist bill henley standing by with his steamy forecast. bill? >> don't expect any ease today in the humidity department. a steamy start, the view from center city from the comcast center, visibility is starting to come down in philadelphia but it's really thickest in new jersey where we're seeing some dense fog. this is the view from burlington county this morning. the fog will be slow to clear. it will clear like it did yesterday. look at that, mount holly and toms river, still holding at zero visibility and quarter mile visibility now in wrightstown. you can see the thick fog extend into cumberland county for millville, atlantic city at the airport. could see delays there as a result of that fog. the fog will be disappearing as the temperatures warm up. we'll see it hour by hour, 73 degrees at 7:00. by 10:00, 83, then on the verge of 90 degrees at 1:00 this afternoon. we'll be back in the 90s later today. we'll go through the forecast

neighborhood by neighborhood to show you how warm it will get when you live when i'm back in ten minutes. right now let's find out if?xáh fog is affecting traffic. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. >> not necessarily affecting traffic yet because we don't have much in terms of a lot of traffic around. the drive times are still doing okay on 295, still a 13-minute trip. no increase here. this is around cherry hill, around 38. the southbound lanes are right in here. you can see as cars move through the area, they still are dealing with reduced visibility. something to watch out for and be a little bit careful. if you are on the schuylkill expressway, drive times are fine. westbound or eastbound from the vine street expressway up towards the blue route, 12 minutes or headed eastbound into the center city area, we'll be fine there also. we keep checking in with the philadelphia international airport with the fog, no weather delays there. we'll have a check on mass transit coming up in ten. secretary of state john

kerry visits philadelphia as he tens to push for support of the iran nuclear deal. nbc 10's monique braxton is live outside the national constitution center where kerry will be speaking today. support is growing but it's not a done deal yet. walk us through this. >> reporter: the appearance here by secretary kerry at the national constitution center comes as president obama is one vote short of the 34 he needs to sustain a veto of any congressional move against the nuclear deal. during the summer break, two key senators from our area voiced their support of the international nuclear agreement with iran. they join supporters who feel the deal will prevent iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon for more than a decade. it won't shut down their arsenal. kerry says after intense negotiations with iranian leaders, he's coming here, regarding one of the president's most significant foreign policy initiatives. >> having this agreement in place is better for our national security as well as the security

of israel and by implication, the security of the region meaning the middle east. it p >> it puts us on a known path of eliminating iran's nuclear program for the next 15 years with the full support of the international community. >> reporter: their support follows protests with be no doubt, in washington and across the country. the jewish community is against this deal, bringing it will bring iran closer to on tenning a nuclear weapon. millions have been sponsored in ad ads. in the next hour we'll tell you where new jersey senators stand on the arms deal. live outside the constitution center, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. 5:33. new from overnight, bystanders had to run for cover when gunmen fired nearly two dozen shots in west philadelphia, killing a 25-year-old man and injuring another man. police say those shots were fired from three different guns

near 62nd and market streets. it's not clear yet if the victim was the intended target. police haven't found the shooters but they have surveillance video. the man accused of opening a little girl's window and taking a picture is now behind bars. yesterday they arrested 27-year-old gregory scott. he lives in the same apartment complex as the girl in washington township. neighbors say he lives with a woman an a young child. but they know little about his background. >> a lot of my friends and neighbors recognized him. i had no idea who he was. >> knowing there was somebody that close, that scares me. >> investigators say scott told the little cl he's a doctor and snap a photo and promised to come back every night if she wouldn't tell her mother. he faces child luring and burglary charges. this west philadelphia

funeral home director is behind bars after investigators found decomposing bodies at his unlicensed funeral home. blair hawkins is charged with corpse. they found bags containing human organs as well. parents at a catholic school on the main line got an explanation surrounding the controversial firing a gay teacher. a parent at waldron mercy academy spoke to nbc 10 after their private meeting with parents. school leaders say margie winters was let go in july over concerns they would lose their affiliation with the catholic church. a school official says the diocese did not tell the school to fire the teacher. winter was the school's religious instruction director. officials said her same-sex marriage which they knew about when they hired her years ago was against church doctrine. an archdiocese spokesperson said

he wasn't there for the meeting but said, however, i will reiterate that the personnel decision in questions with not made by the archdiocese and it was not influenced by the archdiocese. at no time did anyone threaten to revoke the catholic standing of the school. >> 5:36. to our jersey shore bureau now, the atlantic city air show takes off today. thunder over the boardwalk is what it's called. it's free and starts at 11:00 a.m. nbc 10 was there for yesterday's practice runs. you can expect to see several military and civilian acts including the u.s. navy blue angels closing the show around 3:00 this afternoon. always a fun sight. tonight, the women competing for the title of miss america will help celebrate 95 years of that pageant. the golden nugget in atlantic city is hosting a party this evening. yesterday, the contestants city officials say the pageant brings in $30 million in direct spending along with other marketing benefits. something atlantic city desperately needs for its economy. fathers in a fist fight. you all remember this video from

some fog, really thick fog in hazleton and the pocono mountains, blue bell, dense fog. northeast philadelphia seeing light fog. look at the dense fog, zero visibility, hasn't budged since we've been on the air at toms river and mount holly, both reporting zero visibility. thick fog. starting to ease a little bit in millville. you get a little bit of a breeze and that will help with the mixing and get rid of some of the fog briefly. it will take time for that fog to disaper. we'll be back this afternoon, 92 degrees for reading, 91 in allentown and quakertown. hazy sunshine and plenty of humidity for norristown, mount holly and trenton. relief along the coast, 80s this afternoon, fog this morning disappears. it will be 91 in vineland, wilmington, williamstown, narberth into the low 90s this

developments we've learned about the pope's visit in the past 24 hours. nbc 10's vai sikahema jones joi now in the digital operations center. >> the ferry will run from saturday, september 26th through monday, september 28th. that includes extended hours on saturday and sunday. officials are preselling tickets online. the world meeting of families will feature an international mayor's forum for the very first time. yesterday, mayor michael nutter of philadelphia announced the new forum will take place during a week of seminars and events right before the pope's visit and la salle university will have the honor of hosting the event on wednesday, september 23rd. it will include a panel discussion focusing on urban family issues. city leaders say they do not think the pope's stop in new york city will take away from his trip to philadelphia. pope francis will greet thousands of peopleç in a procession through central park.

sentenced to a year of probation. michael barbella of ventnor and michael john duffy of mays landing pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. nbc 10 first show you this cell phone video of the fathers fighting in salisbury, maryland back in july. court documents revealed barbella was angry because his daughter was cut from a softball team. it ended with barbella on the grown bleeding from his face. lawmakers and environment leaders will come together in philadelphia to celebrate the schuylkill river trail. "usa today" named it the best urban trail in the country. the event take place this morning along the schuylkill banks boardwalk. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> another schemey day ahead. that steaminess this morning is giving us areas of fog. the fog is really thick in new jersey and we're seeing spots in pennsylvania, too, not here, though.

that's a clear view across the delaware from the adventure aquarium. 60s in allentown, 64 with clear skies, a few thin clouds over northeast philadelphia, 70 degrees. this is a view from gloucester county this morning, dense fog is going to disappear during the day today. with the warmup that will begin once the sun comes up, it's about after hand hour away. we'll see bright sunshine with scattered clouds across delaware and south jersey. we need clouds with some rain but these clouds, not producing much in the way of rain. there's one isolated shower in eastern west virginia that doesn't look very likely for showers today. if we do see isolated showers, they'll pop up in new jersey during the late afternoon hours. most of the area will be dry today. fog back tomorrow morning, then it clears out. we'll get sunshine by noontime. we'll be heading back toward the 90s tomorrow afternoon. an isolated shower is possible later in the day on thursday. but more likely it is friday.

we'll set yet weather develop in our area, 1:00 in the afternoon, the extra cloud cover and a chance of showers on friday will keep temperatures cooler for friday. not today. the heat, humidity back into the 90s this afternoon. steamy conditions with winds out of the north, just between three and eight miles an hour. tomorrow, a little bit hotter, 94 the high temperature after a morning low of 71 degrees, after fog in the morning, it disappears in the afternoon. then stays along the 90s for a few days. the humidity drops for the weekend as those}orms clear out, we'll see lots of sunshine and low humidity for saturday, sunday and for labor day monday. by tuesday, a bit hotter, up to 93 degrees. >> bill, thanks for that. let's see how the fog in south jersey is affecting the roads. >> if your track takes you through the camden area, there's one thing to be aware of.

nbc 10 first alert reporter jessica boyington is watching that. >> we are seeing the fog spread through mt. laurel, cherry hill and burlington. right now we are still doing a check on new jersey. this issed amight wilson boulevard around 676. all of these cars in here and all of these lanes are headed up towards the ben franklin bridge, right back there in the distance. no problems heading into that direction over into philadelphia. the 42 freeway is doing okay. the walt whitman, the ride is smooth. still a five-minute trip from 55 up towards the bridge. the rest of the area bridges are still okay. the betsy ross, the tacony palmyra and the burlington bristol are nice and clear. currently no problems or delays for new jersey transit, patco or septa. coming up in the 6:00 hour, we'll get another check of philadelphia majors. changes are coming to patco's schedule this weekend. this mostly will impact riders on thursdays and fridays through october.

the changes come during the final stages of patco's $103 million track renovation work. employees started handing out new schedules yesterday. you can see those schedules right now on the nbc 10 news app. happening today, prospective restaura restaura restauranteurs. the conservancy is trying to find an operator for the restaurant. do you usually stop at mcdonald's on your way to work? mcdonald's announced it will start serving breakfast all day at all u.s. locations. the change is scheduled to happen october 6th mcdonald's also says it will do away with liquid margin and use real butter on its breakfast sandwiches instead.

the three cop killers grows. we're off to a foggy start in some areas. i'm tracy davidson. welcome back to nbc 10 news today. >> i'm vai sikahema. i'm in burlington county. that's one of those foggy areas. it got bet every as i came west. >> a short time ago, this thick fog is in place in burlington county. we're getting closer to sunrise, half an hour before sunrise. look at the low-lying fog in valley. this is a view from the french manor in the pocono mountains. hazleton has half a mile visibility within looking at quarter mile visibility. mount holly, zero visibility, toms river ioç ocean county, zeo visibility and thick fog for wrightstown. millville is seeing improvement now. a little bit of a breeze and one-mile visibility. atlantic city, zero
